The First Happy Cracker

The first Happy Cracker was made on Christmas Eve for a curious little girl who destroyed a paper cracker in seconds without recognising the magic of it first. After she disposed of it almost immediately with no interest in its contents, I decided to make her a cracker and turn it into something special.
Using leftover Liberty fabric I made an indestructible fabric cracker – but a cracker that could be unwrapped like a gift. I filled it with a little something that I knew she would cherish and I popped it in her Christmas Eve box. She gently opened it the next morning with so much excitement!

As the festivities passed, the original cracker was safely packed away – but stowed ready for her to unwrap the same happiness next year. And the year after that, and the year after that.
This is what gave birth to Happy Crackers. Keepsake, heirloom pieces that eliminates typical cracker waste and help form new traditions.
Who we are

Happy Crackers are all designed and made-by-hand in North Yorkshire.
We are a small family team at Happy HQ, but it’s mostly me - Rebecca (Mrs Crackers) running the ship, and little Miss Crackers is in charge of quality control! (From a toddler-appropriate distance, of course.)
Like many other families, we have a passion for celebrating every occasion throughout the year – no matter how big or small. We found this was particularly true throughout 2020, when we found even the smallest of family celebrations to be a true source of joy.
This made us question - why are crackers just for Christmas? Why not for birthdays, or for dinner parties? Why not as a special newborn gift, or filled with chocolate at Easter? Couldn’t they also be luxury wedding favours, or alternative party bags? Or perhaps even a truly life changing cracker – They house an engagement ring in quite nicely! The list is endless! More crackers, in our eyes, equals more happiness!
