Fabric & Care

Here at Happy Crackers we currently use four fabrics, two types of velvet ribbon and the very best recycled yarn satin, most of which is made from 100% used plastic bottles!

All our products are created from the luxurious and silky soft Liberty of London Tana Lawn 100% Cotton and the finest linen/cotton blends. Our materials are lightweight, soft, durable and machine washable.

Fabric Care

To keep your crackers looking beautiful year after year we advise you to follow the guidelines below.

All elements of our crackers are washable, even the ribbons! We recommend putting the crackers in a pillowcase on a gentle hand wash or a very delicate cycle no more than 30°C.
When washing our block prints, please wash on a cold hand wash, preferably not in the machine. Our Indian Block print fabric is very very delicate and needs extra care when cleaning. Please do not rub on stains, gently sponge dab. It is known that Block prints do tend to run ever so slightly on first wash with the nature of their process, but we have not seen any of this when sampling but please be aware block prints will not be able to stand warm or hot temperatures.

Please do not tumble dry from wet as this may cause shrinkage. Leave to dry naturally and then finish in tumble dryer on the lowest setting.

Iron your crackers and ribbon on a low heat. We recommend ironing under a fabric napkin to avoid limescale drops and pulling on the decorative ribbon.

Do not bleach or use a laundry powder or liquid that contains bleach.

Ribbon Care
~

All our satin ribbons are now hotcut which means no more fray! Yay!

If you have a set of our crackers with our earlier satin ribbons and the natural fray has already started please do get in touch for a fresh set of free replacement ribbons. Thats right they are on us!

To keep your velvet looking plump, we recommend using a soft baby brush and gently brushing when needed.

In the unfortunate event that your crackers need repairing (which we guarantee you won't ever need) we'll just provide you with a new one, but we'll also recycle the old one and give it a new life as something else!
